The Pine Island Food Pantry is a non-denominational, 501c3 non-profit organization serving the residents of Pine Island and the greater Matlacha area and is open Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.  Clients can pick up groceries twice per month.  The pantry is housed in the Life Center of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church on Stringfellow Road in Bokeelia.

New clients are welcome.  An ID is required at each visit to verify residency in our service area.   Food amounts are distributed by family size and ages.  Groceries include milk, eggs, sliced cheese, baked goods, canned goods, pasta, meat, toilet paper and bar soap.  Other personal care grooming and hygiene products, as well as pet food and baby products are also frequently available.

The Food Pantry is operated by an all-volunteer staff. Our goal is to ensure “no one goes hungry” on the island.  The pantry is supported by donations from local residents, schools and churches, service and civic clubs and businesses, with 100% of all donations going to those in need.  We are indebted to all of our partners and our friends at Winn Dixie, Publix and Harry Chapin for ensuring food is available for all.  We are an equal opportunity provider.

Nonperishable donations can be dropped off at the following island locations: Winn-Dixie, V.F.W., American Legion, Moose, Elks, Centennial Bank, the Matlacha Post Office or at the food pantry when it is open on Monday and Thursday, 8:30 am – 10:30 am.
