Our Communities

Pine Island is made up of five distinct communities . . . 
               each with its own identity.

Bokeelia –  An agricultural area with palm and tropical fruit groves, canal-front and waterfront  homes, farms, marinas, and restaurants.

Pineland  – “Cracker Style” homes, Calusa Indian site, mango groves, and marinas.

Matlacha  – A colorful, artsy community with waterfront living and dining, a public park, and independent art galleries and shops.

Pine Island Center – A business area with banks, a shopping center, fire station, and park.

St. James City – Primarily a residential area with canal and waterfront homes in many neighborhoods, social organizations, marinas, restaurants.
